Design your own broom
We are asked at every show that we attend if we can create a broom using a handle supplied by the customer. It may be a handle that was an old walking stick from a loved one, a tool handle, sporting goods handle, a porch spindle from an old house, a tobacco stick from the family farm, an old instrument not being played anymore. The possibilities are definitely endless and the ideas that customers come up with are special to them. We do offer the opportunity to create your own broom. If you don't have a handle that you would like to use we have spent years collecting different handles and have hundreds if not thousands of choices on hand. We are constantly collecting handles and we have a network of “pickers” that help us in finding our handles.
What to do if you want to design your special broom.
If you have a handle that you want to use. Text or email us some photos of the handle. If you are in need of that special handle, contact us and we can supply you with photos of some possible choices. We can also create whisk brooms with no handle in a variety of styles, sizes and colors to your specifications.
After you have chosen your handle or we receive the photos of your handle we can discuss color, size, shape and style of your broom and give you an estimate of cost and delivery time. Just to give you an idea we have a few of the choices you might need to make listed below.
Custom broom order basic charge $35
Dyed broomcorn $20-$30 (Colors available natural, black, blue, green, purple, red, orange yellow, brown, grey)
Plaiting (weaving applied to the handle at the broom to handle transition) $20
Handle purchase or preparation of supplied handle $0-? (Handles costs vary greatly and handles that are supplied by the customer sometimes need to have modifications to allow them to be used as a broom handle)
Shipping your finished broom to you $20-? (depends on size, shape, and your location)
